Silk Art Official Instruction
The white silk piece will be part of mile-long art piece for “The Silk Road to the Future.” You are free to paint, hand embroider, write poetry or use any art format or medium on the silk piece.

Be creative! You must use the silk piece provided but please practice on paper first, then work on the silk piece. Remember that the theme must relate to peace.

When finished, write down your name and your school on a piece of paper and attach on the silk. You must then submit the art piece with the name card to the Legends of China on-site office which will be located inside of your hotel the first night of your arrival.

The pieces will be evaluated by a panel of judges from the US and China and prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Each year, LOC will collect silk art pieces and connect them together to create the banner that will be presented at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Opening Ceremony.
